Los Angeles West Side German Shepherd Rescue dogs we are working with - dog training
Los Angeles Westside German Shepherd Rescue dog trainingOur rescue dog training program is now working with a German Shepherd Dog from Los Angeles Westside German Shepherd Rescue. Rexford is an 18 month old male, sable colored German Shepherd Dog.
This dog from Los Angeles Westside German Shepherd Rescue
is being trained with a customized homestay
kennel training program. We are training him in basic obedience, potty
training, and house manners. You can see the beginning part of teaching
how to sit at the door and door manners at Dog
Training and Door Manners. Rexford is learning how to sleep in his
crate at night and he is also learning good potty behavior.
While Rexford seems to be well balanced. I have not noticed any fear associated problems. But his intense interest in strangers and other dogs will require some behavior management skills and ideally an experienced.I have also tested him for problems with food guarding. I can report that I have not seen any sings of aggression associated to resource guarding. I plan on posting a video of him with food in the next few days. Many people think German Shepherd Dogs are aggressive but that is not necessarily true. Rexford the German Shepherd seems to be exceptionally friendly. I have not seen any overtly aggressive behavior from Rexford, but I have noticed an intensity that needs to be managed. As I have already mentioned Rexford is also very quite dog. I have only heard him bark at intruders a couple of times and even then he was not very serious. If you are looking for a watch dog, this is not the best German Shepherd for that type of job. However, if you are looking for a great family dog who is friendly and easygoing this may be just the dog for you. Even my friend found that giving Rexford a bath is easy. I am doing some interesting training with this sable German Shepherd. If you are looking for a therapy dog candidate you may want to consider this rescue dog. I think Rexford has great potential as some type of support dog. In addition to a standard homestay dog training program I am also starting to traine him for my newest Lifestyle Support Dog® program. Even if Rexford is not the perfect German Shepherd Dog for You, Westside German Shepherd Rescue has many, many good dogs looking for great homes. If you are interested in Rexford or any of Westside German Shepherd Rescue's other dogs give them a call at 310-202-7283
